The RANASCIMENTO collection is realized in collaboration with the Florentine designer Francesca Caltabiano Francesca has always been a big fan of minerals, jewels, cinema and fashion.
In 1989 she graduates in Fashion Marketing at the FIT of New York.
In 1991 she gets a degree at the
Gemmological Institute of America where she also works as a gemmologist for few years.
Her New York experience in the ’90 deeply influences her creative and cultural growth as a designer.
Jewels become the expression of her interests and passions
In 2007 Francesca decides to part with the world of classic jeweller’s craft and to start her own business as a jewel designer.
The fairy tale world and the songs of childhood
take shape of irreverent collections of toy-jewels made of enamel, pearls, bronze and silver.
This way the renaissance face impressed on old 500 liras kisses the frog prince and for once there any transformation is needed because he is beautiful the way he is.
A prince without a crown and without escort – like the one from a famous Fabrizio De’ Andrè’s song – who get kissed by his beloved creates both the beauty of the tale and the value of the unexpected.
Each frog wondering upon his life realizes that he is a little bit of a frog, a little bit of a prince and a little bit of a king….us to choose.
Today SO and Francesca put their energy together in order to create a textile collection full of colour and irony in which jewels are transformed into furnishings.
